Great, easy sauce that can turn good vanilla ice cream into a dinner party dessert.
Ingredients
4oz/112g butter
6oz/170g soft light brown sugar
7floz/200ml double cream
Method
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and heat gently, stirring until the butter is melted and the sugar is completely dissolved.
Boil over a steady heat for a good 5 minutes.
The sauce keeps well in the fridge in a screw-top jar for several days.
